Cataclysm: Day 1 Impressions

24 hours down.

What’s been accomplished?

  1. I’ve been Worgenized.
  2. I can now fly in Azeroth.
  3. I have completed all the quests in Hyjal.
  4. I am now level 82
  5. I have trained all of my professions for Illustrious Grand Master.
  6. I have learned Archaeology.
  7. I am parked in Deepholm while I’m at work today.

What have I learned?

  • PvP servers are great for any other time than expansion release time.  I can’t even count how many times I was killed for minding my own business.  I also ended up with several rez timers.
  • Only about the first half of any zone is crowded.  After that I guess people get bored or move on.

More reflections tomorrow!

I noticed this, too. Seems to apply to low-level zones as well. I rolled a goblin on Tuesday morning (dumb, I know); Kezan was swarming with them. Once I got to the second major phase, though? There were like… 4 of us, tops.

    • I also noticed that going into the later zones, it seems like the population is significantly less. Not even sure why. When I went into Deepholm last night it was pretty empty by comparison.

  2. I'm about 2/3 way through Deepholme and the place is still crawling with lvl 84 and 85 horde who all seem intent on making life miserable. This 85 undead rogue was camped on the quest giver in Stonehearth last night and killed me 4 times in rapid succession. I loved Hyjal ( and hate Vasj'ir) and am liking Deepholme

  3. Loved Deepholm….loved loved loved it. I don't roll on a PvE server, but I noticed the same issue with folks going to the overcrowded areas flagged. I found myself being pulled into PvP play when I never intended to be.
