Post-Memorial Day Roundup

I have managed to survive the long weekend!  Diablo is dead, and my husband is still moving after his weekend-long hockey binge.  Sadly, his team lost every game, but that’s a whole different issue.

I’m hoping this week to really put my head down and knock out the rest of my Dragon Soul normal strategies, and get back into Mists with more information as I can piece it together.  I have some great drafted articles, just nothing concrete enough that I’m comfortable to publish it.  Nature of betas, I suppose.

MoP Waiting Game

Panderia

We’re all waiting for Mists of Panderia to come out, or at least waiting for some news.  Much of that is the cause of my lack of writing lately.  There’s not a whole lot of news.  Deathwing’s dead, and I’m just not playing as much as I had been.  Real life has gotten in the way.  I will flesh out the remainder of my normal mode strategies for Dragon Soul, and update my Power Auras page, but it’s going to be a bit.

Since the beginning of the year, here’s what I’ve been doing:

  • Hockey games. Tampa Bay isn’t so hot this year, but hey, they’re my team, and I’ll stick with them.
  • Husband is playing hockey. I go to his games all the time.
  • Husband and I joined a gym — and we’re actually going 3+ times a week.
  • SWTOR.
  • Diablo III Beta
  • 40+ hours of work, and it’s annual review time.

Needless to say, I barely have time to turn around, but I’m having fun — just means my time is at a premium.  I ha

Cleaning things up

After my crazy bad week last week of website problems, I decided to do an overhaul.

As you can see, new URL, new layout, but same content.  Don’t sweat it, old URL redirects to the new one.

The goal here was to have content load faster, be more secure, and generally less buggy.

I know some individual articles don’t have images showing correctly — I’ll be slowly fixing those.  For now, enjoy!

Is she MIA?

Yes, and no at the same time.

Just a quick update tonight.  If you follow me on twitter, you’d see that I got into the Starwars beta over the weekend — and it was awesome.  Until the hard drive on my main computer died.  Needless to say I’m a little jaded about messing with computers right now, and am anxiously awaiting a phone call to come pick up my computer in the morning.  The only reason I’m not doing the work myself is because it’s under warranty.

I sit here writing as I listen to my guild (we’re recruiting btw) wipe to heroic 25-man Majordomo, and I really wish I were in there with them.  This laptop just can’t handle raiding for 3 hours straight without overheating — not to mention the fact that my UI isn’t ported here.

There hasn’t been a whole lot of news coming lately for hunters — except the occasional tweak of a spell here or there on the PTR.  Nothing outlandish — mostly stuff to help BM and SV catch up a bit to where Marksman has been performing as of late.

As soon as I get my stuff back, I’m sure I’ll have more to say, but for now, I think I’m going to go mourn the empty space where my computer was.

PS – SWTOR is super fun, but there’s a couple things I wish were different.  Those things aside,  I’m really looking forward to playing again.

4.2: To Do List

So 4.2 is coming tomorrow morning, and the Firelands will be raided.  Bosses will die, and new purples will be had.  That being said, what’s on my list of things to do before 4.2 rolls?

Yep, I transferred servers, and guilds.  I’ve joined Conquest, and so far everyone’s been pretty cool.  Once I’ve gotten a few raids under my belt, we’ll see if the fit is right.

Unexpected Downtime

I apologize to anyone who was trying to access the site over the weekend.  Some errant script has decided to wreak havoc all over my site.  I’ve hopefully gotten it fixed, and things should be back to normal.

Site Clean-Up

So in the spirit of Spring cleaning, I realized that the tail end of my posts got a little junky looking with all the extra links and icons down there.  I’ve spent a few hours tinkering with new plug-ins and finally think I’ve settled on how things are going to look going forward.

You’ll notice at the bottom of my posts there’s a Google +1 icon there.  I’ve replaced the star-rating plug in with this.  While it might not tell me how much you like a post, it tells me how many of you like a post.  On the flip-side to this, it also helps Google find things people like to read on the internet, and bumps it up on their page rankings. (Good catch on this one, Frostheim)

I am currently muddling through the strategy for Heroic Atramedes, and will likely have Heroic Maloriak to write soon — on top of trying to keep up with the PTR changes. (There are a few if you haven’t been keeping score)

Brief Update

Happy Sunday Funday all!

Just wanted to give a quick update as to what’s been going on.  I’ve successfully completed the two new heroics, and am working on those strategies.  I’m hoping to have them posted this week sometime.

Tomorrow night, my guild is focusing on Nefarian, so if things go well, you can also expect that strategy coming soon too. :)

Current Progression

or… where’s Morynne, and why hasn’t she done Nefarian and Cho’gall?

It’s performance review time at work, which means all of my writing-fu is being used to craft performance reviews for my employees.  Yeah, that means I’m in charge of people.  Scary.  It also means I don’t have much spare time outside of work.

Did I also mention I’m a season ticket holder for Tampa Bay Lightning? Yeah — push for the playoffs is happening. Go Bolts!

Needless to say, writing strategy and stuff for here is taking a bit of a back seat — life’s taken over for a bit.  My guild has spent countless hours wiping on Cho’gall (with no luck, I might add), and we’re starting attempts on Nefarian tonight to try something different.

Soon as I get a new boss down, I’ll write something, I swear! (Though there’s no promises if it’s when playoff hockey is happening :) )
